Operation Sindoor spurs new India-Russia missile pact

Buoyed by the S-400 air defence system's stellar performance during Operation Sindoor, where it reportedly downed six to seven Pakistani fighter and reconnaissance aircraft deep inside enemy territory, India is now planning to procure a fresh batch of missiles worth around Rs 10,000 crore from Russia.
Defence sources told ANI that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated discussions with Moscow for the large-scale purchase to further bolster its long-range air defence capabilities.
The proposal is expected to be taken up for approval at the Defence Acquisition Council meeting scheduled for October 23.
