'No MP raised our issues in Parliament', says Cong's Lakhimpur candidate Uday Hazarika

After being named as the Congress candidate from Lakhimpur seat in Assam, Uday Shankar Hazarika said on Sunday that they have rarely got an MP who raises their issues in the Parliament.

"After independence, we rarely received an MP in Lakhimpur who raised our issues in Parliament. I will raise the issues of the places in the constituency. Our issues are floods, erosion, and issues related to the Subansiri Dam Project; people think it can collapse any day.
We will demand that the Government ensure the protection of the life and properties of the people besides the development works.
