MOTHER INDIA AND JERNAIL S. ANAND THE LIVING EPIC

Seneca Laureate Dr. Jernail Singh Anand, with an opus of 180 books, is a towering literary figure whose name adorns The Poets' Rock in Serbia.

MOTHER INDIA AND JERNAIL S. ANAND THE LIVING EPIC

This is a complex poetic essay that combines biography with metaphor and national myth. Both monologues and the dialogic design of this scene emphasize the dynamic tension between individual moral conviction and social solidarity.

Anand is not shown as a static edifice but a kinetic phenomenon — a writer and philosopher, a tree planter. The work celebrates his contribution as a prolific man of letters (and a moral compass) to a nation frequently divided along the line of tradition and transition. Stylistically, the language is high and intimate, both Vedic cadence and modern urgency. This is, essentially, to elevate Anand to the status of a living epic.

PREFACE
"O Motherland! You gave me breath, and I returned with words carved in wind". So, says J.S. Anand.
