Mother first donates liver to son, a decade later kidney

In a remarkable testament to a mother's unwavering love and resilience--and of course to the skill sets of a team of doctors-- 66-year-old Shimla Bai has saved her son's life for the second time in a decade.
This story of an extraordinary dual organ donation is one of its kind recorded globally.
A decade ago in 2015, Vijay, now 28-year-old, was diagnosed with a critical liver condition that required an urgent transplant. His mother donated a part of her liver and the transplant at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in Delhi was successful. The son led a healthy life for the next 10 years.
