Hydration tips for pregnant and breastfeeding moms during summer

Hydration plays a vital role in maintaining amniotic fluid levels, producing breast milk, and keeping energy levels steady. During the warmer months, it is easy to forget to drink enough fluids, but the body requires more water to stay balanced and healthy.

Here are the practical hydration tips to help pregnant and breastfeeding moms stay cool and hydrated during the hot summer days.

1. DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE THIRSTY

One of the easiest hydration mistakes is waiting until you feel thirsty to drink water. By the time you experience thirst, you may already be mildly dehydrated. To prevent this, make it a habit to sip water regularly throughout the day. Carrying a water bottle with you at all times ensures that you are always able to hydrate whenever needed.

2. START YOUR DAY WITH WATER

Kickstart your morning hydration with a glass of plain water or coconut water. Drinking water first thing in the morning helps not only to rehydrate your body after a night's rest but also to stimulate digestion and set a positive tone for the day. Adding coconut water provides a natural source of electrolytes, which can help replenish your body after a night's sleep.

3. INFUSE YOUR WATER
