PCOS AND MENSTRUAL HEALTH Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and other menstrual disorders are accompanied by symptoms like irregular menses, mood swings, irritability and weight gain. Hormonal imbalances in women are largely caused by stress. Regular Yoga practice helps in managing stress, promoting mental stability and building a strong body, which help in effective management of menstrual disorders.

YOGA PRACTICES: Baddhakonasna (Butterfly Pose): Formation and steps: Start from dandasana (seated posture with legs stretched out and together). Bend the knees and bring the base of both feet together, forming a namaste. Pull the feet close to the pelvis, while pressing the knees towards the floor. Hold both feet together with the hands, lengthen the spine and push the chest outwards, avoid leaning forward. Hold for 30 seconds to begin with, repeat 4-5 times.
