Giriraj Ji, also known as Govardhan Hill, holds a deeply revered place in Hinduism, especially among the devotees of Lord Krishna.
Located in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh, this sacred hill is a living symbol of divine love, faith, and protection. Its spiritual importance originates from the legendary episode in the Bhagavata Purana, where Lord Krishna lifted the entire hill on his little finger to shield the people of Braj from torrential rains sent by the rain god Indra. This act of divine strength and compassion earned Krishna the title "Giridhari," the lifter of Govardhan, and transformed the hill itself into an object of worship as Giriraj Maharaj.
