The recent report card for Member of Parliament Smriti Irani, representing Amethi Lok Sabha, unveils positive sentiments and satisfaction among the public.

ASSESSING SMRITI IRANI'S PERFORMANCE AS AMETHI'S MP

The comprehensive assessment covered various aspects such as parliamentary performance, ground-level impact, social media presence, and insights from an extensive India News survey.

The political landscape of Amethi Lok Sabha is widely recognised as a significant stronghold, with discussions about every endeavour resonating throughout the nation. Often referred to as Raipur-Amethi, this constituency holds historical significance as the political bastion of the Gandhi family.

Over the years, stalwarts like Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi have graced this seat as Members of Parliament. Nevertheless, the dynamics of politics in this region have undergone a profound transformation. The winds of change have swept across Amethi, reshaping its political contours, and marking a departure from the historical narrative.

Presently, the esteemed Member of Parliament representing this constituency is the prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Smriti Irani.

Commencing her political journey in 2003, Smriti Irani became a member of the BJP. Despite contesting Lok Sabha elections from Chandni Chowk, she encountered a setback as she was defeated by the Congress candidate Kapil Sibal.

During the general elections of 2014, Smriti contested fiercely against Rahul Gandhi for the Amethi parliamentary seat. Despite putting up a robust challenge, she faced defeat in that election. Undeterred by the setback, the actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani refused to accept defeat.
