Afghan intel links Moscow, Tehran attacks to Pakistan

Afghanistan's intelligence apparatus has alleged that Pakistan continues to provide safe havens and operational space to ISIS elements within its territory a situation it warns now poses a threat not only to Afghanistan but to global security.

According to information shared with this newspaper, Afghan intelligence believes Pakistan has ignored the presence of ISIS-linked training and recruitment centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. These facilities, sources claim, are used to recruit foreign fighters, indoctrinate them with extremist ideology, and facilitate their movement through Pakistan's western borders and airports in Karachi and Islamabad.

Describing this as a “dangerous game”, the sources said the roots of the ISIS-Khorasan network lie in Pakistan’s Orakzai region, where its first leader, Saeed Khan, was based and where hundreds of Pakistani nationals joined its ranks.
