'21 PAKISTAN VISITS': ASSAM CM ESCALATES GOGOI ROW

The Assam Cabinet has decided to hand over the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe involving Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi to the Union Home Ministry, citing serious national security concerns.

The decision was taken after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the SIT report, which, he claimed, alleges links between Gogoi and Pakistani nationals.

Speaking exclusively to NewsX, Sarma levelled a series of grave allegations against Gogoi, asserting that the Congress leader had visited Pakistan 21 times, stayed there for around 10 days on each visit, and must explain who he met and for what purpose. The Chief Minister said the visits were allegedly cleared by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, raising questions about the nature and intent of the travel.
