DANNY JORDAAN: CASE AGAINST SAFA PRESIDENT POSTPONED TO 15 AUGUST
» Accused seek to have remaining fraud, theft charges voided.
The state yesterday dropped three theft charges against South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan and Safa CFO Gronie Hluyo totalling just more than R888 000, However, the state is pressing ahead with other fraud and theft charges against Jordaan, Hluyo and businessman Trevor Neethling.
They appeared briefly in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge, where the case was postponed to 15 August, while the accused seek to have their charges dropped.
The three are charged with fraud and theft, accused of misusing R1.3 million of Safa funds for personal benefit.
Arrested on 13 November 2024, the accused are out on R20 000 bail each.
