R800,000 boost for TAB pools

With TAB pumping in R800,000 in added-cash bonuses to five pools and a carryover Any 13 Xtra this weekend, there's little doubt that several soccer fans are going to be a lot richer come Monday. But before that, there's loads of absorbing action to bet on, and good money to be won, including PSL and English League Cup clashes tonight.

Mamelodi Sundowns' new coach Miguel Cardoso showed a little of his hand in his debut match in charge of the champions last Sunday when they won with a much-improved second-half performance against Raja Casablanca in the African Champions League.

Now they turn to domestic duties again tonight when they take on Stellenbosch at the Cape Town Stadium. There are likely to be more changes as Cardoso tinkers with personnel and probably less of the usual flourish that Sundowns bring to the game. A new coach means players are on edge as they look to impress, plus they stick to instructions and try to avoid mistakes.
