JUST DO IT: WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO DO, STARTING WITH MOST IMPORTANT

- Yvonne De Bruin

Prioritising or procrastinating?

We all know the feeling. There is so much to do and we would rather find many other things to pass the time than get those niggling chores out of the way.

Feelings of guilt may be eating away at us for not completing them, but it just doesn't make a difference.

Procrastination is defined as a type of avoidance behaviour which is characterised by putting off actions or tasks for a later time.

While it is normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it may be a problem when it interferes with day-to-day functioning.

It is important to look at the tasks that you procrastinate about. Does the thought of tackling them scare you, or do you feel that they are not important enough?
