There was no full house for South Africa after the weekend semi-finals of the two African club competitions with only Mamelodi Sundowns advancing to a final while Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch were both eliminated.

Sundowns won a place in the African Champions League final against Pyramids next month, while Pirates and Stellenbosch can only rue several missed opportunities in the process of crashing out.

Pirates twice had the lead in their Champions League semi-final in Cairo but let the tie slip, while Stellenbosch netted an equaliser in their African Confederation Cup tie against Tanzania's Simba only to see it correctly ruled offside as highlighted by VAR.

All three clubs must quickly put last weekend behind them and turn their focus back to the league tonight when they play catch-up games.
