LETDOWN: SUSPENSION EXTINGUISHES HOPES OF RIDING SOME TOP HORSES IN FEATURES

- Muzi Yeni

Muzi upset to miss KZN finale

Racing tomorrow takes place on the Standside track at Turffontein as well as Hollywoodbets Kenilworth and we have a double header on offer.

Racing on Sunday is at Hollywoodbets Greyville racecourse and it is one of the best meetings of our season, Gold Cup Day, which is a Hong Kong World Pool meeting with all 10 races, every one of them a feature, with World Pools offered on all of them.

Unfortunately, I am suspended which is a really tough pill to swallow but I will be watching closely and cheering on some of the horses I was meant to ride, including Royal Victory in the HKJC Champions Stakes over 1800m.

We are focusing on the Turffontein card where the meeting honours an absolute legend in the saddle, Piere 'Striker' Strydom.

News broke this week that he will officially retire at the end of this month and this will be his last meeting riding at Turffontein.

I'd like to wish Piere everything of the best going forward and thank him for all the wonderful memories and for setting a standard second to none.

We also received the very sad news of Barend Botes' passing, which came as a shock to all of us, and I would like to wish his entire family all the strength and blessings through this tragic time.

May his soul rest in peace.

Race 1 at Turffontein tomorrow is a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1160m and there are a number of well-bred unraced horses so watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to their chances.

Of the raced runners I think Queensland is the horse they all have to beat.

Even though she is a filly taking on the colts, her debut run was a lovely performance and with the expected natural improvement, she sets the standard.

Umzingeli Wenyathi has some very good form to his name and he looks to be the immediate danger.

Force Publique has run two fair races to date and with further improvement, he can run into the money.
