L'Occitane's new space celebrates Provence in Sandton
The Citizen
|June 25, 2025
L'Occitane en Provence, the internationally loved beauty and wellness brand, has opened the doors to its newly relocated store in Sandton City – and while the brand is no stranger to the upscale mall, this move marks a refreshed approach to its signature boutique experience.
Located in a new space within the same shopping complex, the revamped store is a tranquil escape from the urban buzz.
True to the brand's French roots, the boutique radiates the warmth and elegance of southern France, offering customers a taste of the Provençal lifestyle with every visit.
Founded in 1976 by Olivier Baussan, L'Occitane started as a small venture in the south of France. At just 23 years old, Baussan began distilling essential oils from local herbs like rosemary and lavender, selling his fragrant creations at markets.
From those humble beginnings grew a global powerhouse with a heart rooted in nature, tradition, and sustainability.

None of this makes sense
You can try sell it to me as much as you want and try tell me it’s about growing the game, but I still think it’s utterly ridiculous that the Springboks and All Blacks will conclude their four-match Test series later this year in the United States.
