Despite the hosts falling to an 11-run defeat, Proteas captain Aiden Markram was pleased with the late fight produced by his team in the third T20 International against India in Centurion last night.

Though a win seemed out of reach for most of their run chase, with the SA team looking dead and buried, they did manage to claw their way back into the match.

A late onslaught from Marco Jansen was not enough to stop India, however, who took a 2-1 lead in their four-match series.

Markram was nonetheless delighted with middle-order batter Heinrich Klaasen and all-rounder Jansen, who nearly snatched what would have been a memorable victory for the hosts.
