'AND JUST LIKE THAT': THE REVIVAL THAT FLOPS
And Just Like That is a revival that should never have happened. It's rare that a beloved show returns after decades and lives up to its original glory.
Unfortunately, And Just Like That, the much-hyped revival of the iconic Sex and The City, is living proof that sometimes the past is best left untouched.
With a limp storyline, awkwardly forced "modern" elements and characters behaving as if they've learned nothing from their previous arcs, this series is one of television's most painful disappointments.
Sarah Jessica Parker remains, undeniably, the best-dressed woman on television. Her Carrie Bradshaw wardrobe is still aspirational, still fashion-forward and still proof that Parker changed the trajectory of women in TV through the original series.
But great clothes alone cannot carry a show drowning in clumsy writing, lazy storytelling and character assassinations so severe that fans are left questioning why this revival exists at all.
A cast that deserved better The revival reunites Parker with Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York-Goldenblatt), while introducing new faces meant to broaden the show's perspective.
But even with this ensemble, the spark is gone. Parker brings her charm, Davis her elegance and Nixon her sharp delivery, yet none of it translates into the magic we remember.
