RACIAL: BLACK PRACTITIONERS PENALISED MORE
Medical aid schemes are under fire for their treatment of registered practitioners. A report commissioned by Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi found a "power imbalance" was prejudicing health care providers. Chair of the independent investigative panel, Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, presented the key findings yesterday.
The investigation focused on medical aid scheme procedures between 2012 and 2019 following allegations of improper treatment made to the Council of Medical Schemes (CMS).
The investigation scrutinised possible procedural and substantive unfairness.
