ActionSA tears into NW budget

ActionSA in the North West has slammed the provincial finance MEC Kenetswe Mosenogi's budget speech, saying it is full of untruths and riddled with contradictions and empty promises.

Party MPL Kwena Mangope said the speech was a testament to the ANC's 31-year legacy of misrule, corruption and failure to address socioeconomic challenges facing the North West people.

Mosenogi tabled the province's budget totalling R55.740 billion for the 2025-26 financial year in the provincial legislature in Mahikeng amid criticism from the opposition about widespread corruption in the provincial administration and municipalities.

"The MEC's claims of progress are not only misleading, but also an insult to the lived realities of the people of [North West]," said Mosenogi.
