Toys R Us set for Metrocentre return

RETAIL giant and childhood favourite Toys R Us is to open anew store in the North East.

The firm shut its stores in the US, UK and Australia in 2019, with the last American stores closing in 2021 after filing for bankruptcy, with its UK casualties including a big branch next to the Metrocentre in Gateshead.
