Profits roll down but expansion plans move on

GREGGS fans were put off amid one of the country’s hottest Junes on record, new results for the sausage roll seller show.
Sales at the Newcastle-based bakery chain soared past £1bn in the first half of the year but profits have dipped thanks to roasting temperatures last month and the impact of heavy snow in January.
Bosses at the FTSE250 retailer are ploughing ahead with expansion plans as they hope to reach 3,500 stores nationwide.
From September, Greggs' frozen 'bake at home' range will be available at Tesco, following on from its successful deal with Iceland in recent years.
