OPENER John Oswell fired a brilliant 156 to give Burnopfield a winning platform against Tynemouth.

Oswell's 113-ball knock included 15 fours and 10 sixes as Burnopfield amassed 300-4 - with Jonny Bushnell adding an unbeaten 70 from 60 balls.

Tynemouth were all out for 178 in reply, with Ross Whitfield Jnr taking an excellent 5-37.

Peter Halliday and Adam Heather steered Benwell Hill to a nine-wicket victory at home to Tynedale in superb fashion.

Visitors Tynedale totalled 223 all out, with Edward Foreman making 68 and James Rainford 64, while Jamie Crichton hit 35 late on.

Peter Halliday then struck a brilliant 109 not out from 121 balls, which included 13 fours and six, while Adam Heather scored an unbeaten 84 as the Hill eased to their target of 224 for the loss of just one wicket.

Former Durham and England star Paul Collingwood scored 37 for Shotley Bridge at home to Burnmoor.

Daniel Anderson made 38 and Reece Carr 33, as the hosts were all out for 201, with Burnmoor's Sean Tindale taking 3-32.

In reply, Allan Worthy scored 35 and Ryan Pringle 48, while Stuart Poynter made an unbeaten 43, leading Burnmoor to victory on 204-4.

Newcastle racked up a huge 303-4 in their comprehensive home win against Sunderland.
