Metro station platform damaged by train's new sliding step is closed

Two at Jesmond Metro Station remains closed as a precaution after it was damaged on Monday night.The damage was caused by a train which had been withdrawn due to a fault with its sliding step at Pelaw, which prompted a service suspension of over two hours between Haymarket and South Gosforth.
