Man used bottle of vodka to floor a cage fighter

A MAN left a cage fighter unconscious in the street after he hit him over the head with a full bottle of vodka.

Jack Chatton and the victim were in an altercation near a petrol station in North Shields when the former suddenly smashed the bottle over latter, leaving him with a “deep wound” to his forehead.

Police arrived at the scene, having been called by staff from the garage, and spoke with the victim, who claimed he'd been assaulted but didn’t know who by, a court heard.

Chatton, who had already left, was later identified on CCTV thanks to a tattoo on his hand. He was arrested and appeared in South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court to plead guilty to one count of affray.
