Hayden set for return to Tyneside

NEWCASTLE United will see Isaac Hayden report back at Benton for pre-season training in July after he admitted his move to Portsmouth will not become permanent.

The former Arsenal defender, who signed back in 2016, picks up £50,000 per week and has a year left of his current deal still to run.

Last summer, Hayden was sent to train with the second string at Little Benton and even featured for the reserves in the National Cup before being sent out on loan to Pompey.

The consummate professional got on with life in the reserves and made his playing comeback for the black and whites in the National League Cup against Halifax Town earlier this term.
