'Garden village-style' development planned

PLANS for a new affordable housing estate in Newcastle’s East End have been unveiled.

Keepmoat Homes has lodged proposals for a 42-home development on Pottery Bank, in Walker. The builder was appointed by Newcastle City Council last year to redevelop the land as part of the wider regeneration ambitions for the riverside area. It has now formally submitted its plans to build a selection of houses which will be made available at affordable rent rates or for shared ownership.
