Costly Horse to come on a bundle for gold at Hamilton
The Chronicle
|August 12, 2025
EXPENSIVE purchase Golden Horse is entitled to come on a bundle for his debut and should take plenty of beating in the David and William McHarg Memorial Maiden Stakes at Hamilton.

The William Haggas inmate cost 425,000 guineas at Tattersalls in October 2023 but did not make it to the track at two and was gelded before he even ran.
That means he is highly unlikely to recoup his purchase price but from Haggas’ point of view, it also means he has been able to take his time with him.
The reason he cost so much is his pedigree, as he is by Sea The Stars out of a Dawn Approach mare who is a half-sister to a Group One winner.
On his debut at Pontefract, Golden Horse completely fluffed the start and was ridden for much of the contest before the penny dropped and he made some headway under hands and heels riding into third.
He should be capable of winning a race such as this and with experience under his belt, better can be expected.
Haggas could double up on the card with Noble Horizon in the Hamilton Park Scottish Trophy Handicap.
