Charity that has run Pride hands over the reins

NEWCASTLE Pride will be under the stewardship of a new organisation after the charity that ran it for 17 years formally closed.

This year's Northern Pride Parade; next year the event will be run by Curious Futures

Northern Pride has ceased trading with immediate effect, donating its closing balance of £8,500, along with all physical and digital assets to Curious Arts. Curious Arts will now run Newcastle Pride under its Curious Futures arm in 2026.

Northern Pride has closed all outstanding commitments, and made clear it has not gone into liquidation - unlike Manchester Pride, which entered voluntary liquidation in October, after a number of performers claimed they were not paid.
