A TYNESIDE care firm has been placed in special measures after inspectors highlighted failings, including staff not spotting an “act of abuse” towards someone receiving care.

A Care Quality Commission inspection report published on Wednesday comes just weeks after a second care firm which shares the same manager was also branded inadequate.
The firms – UR Care Solution and Karrthikeya Health Care both have registered offices in the North East, though appear to operate in both East London and Essex as well as in the North East.
UR Care Solution was inspected in July 2025, while Karrthikeya was inspected between December 2025 and January this year.
At the latter service, a series of worrying issues were identified including that “staff failed to recognise an act of abuse” towards someone in their care.
Both firms have been branded inadequate.
In correspondence with The Chronicle, the registered manager who is listed for both firms declined to comment.
CQC inspectors carried out the assessment at Karrthikeya “due to concerns received about potentially unsafe recruitment of staff”.
A spokesperson for the agency said: “Inspectors found six breaches relating to the need for consent, safe care and treatment, safeguarding, staffing, fit and proper persons employed and how the service is managed. Following the inspection, CQC has rated the areas of safe, well-led, caring, responsive and effective as inadequate.
