The Supreme Court in the case Rahul Kumar @ Rahul Raj @ Raj Srivastava @ Rocky Raj @ Aryan @ Ankit versus. State Of Jharkhand observed and has stayed the death sentence of a man who is convicted for the rape and murder of a 19-year-old engineering student in Jharkhand.

The bench comprising of Justice Surya Kant, Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan was hearing the present matter.
The bench in the case passed the order whereby his death sentence was confirmed.
