SECL coal dispatch at record 100 MT, up 17.5%

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India, proudly announced its significant achievement of surpassing 100 million tonnes of coal dispatched for the current fiscal year

This milestone represents a remarkable growth of 17.65 percent compared to the previous year, when SECL dispatched 85 million tonnes of dry fuel.

Of the total dispatch, an impressive 80 percent was allocated to the power sector, with SECL sending approximately 81 million tonnes of coal to thermal power plants across the country, as confirmed by company officials.

“This is the fastest 100 million tonnes coal dispatch achieved by the company since its inception. The company’s mega projects, Gevra, Dipka, and Kusmunda, located in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh, have made significant contributions to the total dispatch of 100 million tonnes of coal,” stated SECL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Prem Sagar Mishra.
