Repolling in 700 booths amid election violence

Repolling was ordered in R West Bengal after the State Election Commission (SEC) declared the panchayat elections void in 19 districts due to allegations of tampering with ballot boxes and violence that resulted in 15 deaths.

The repolling took place in 696 booths under tight security with the deployment of central forces personnel and state police. By 1 pm, a voter turnout of 30.54 percent was recorded.
