Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a global center for excellence named DAKSHIN, dedicated to countries of the Global South. This initiative, proposed during the First Voice of Global South Summit earlier in the year, aims to foster development and knowledge-sharing among nations.
During the Second Voice of Global South Summit's opening session, PM Modi highlighted the significance of this center and reiterated India's commitment to supporting the Global South's priorities. He mentioned India's proposal to launch a satellite for weather and climate monitoring for these countries during the G20 Summit.
