Gayatri Rathore inaugurates sub-national pulse polio campaign

Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Gayatri Rathore inaugurated the sub-national pulse polio campaign at the state-level by administering polio medicine to children at the Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Gandhinagar on Sunday.

Rathore said that the pulse polio campaign was started in India in 1995. After January 2011, no new case of polio was found in India in the last 13 years. In March 2014, India received the certificate of being free from pulse polio, but 55 cases of polio have been found in Pakistan and 23 in Afghanistan. In view of this, the central government has organised a sub-national pulse polio campaign across the coun
