DELHI COURT REJECTED CM ARVIND KEJRIWAL'S PLEA FOR DAILY CONSULTATION WITH DOCTORS THROUGH VC

The Delhi Court in the case observed and has rejected the application moved by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to consult his doctor through video conferencing daily for 15 minutes with respect to his acute diabetes and fluctuating blood sugar level.

Arvind Kejriwal in the plea had also sought to allow his wife to join and remain present on VC.

The bench of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of Rouse Avenue Courts stated that the jail authorities shall ensure that all requisite medical treatment is to be provided to Kejriwal in Jail.

Adding to it, the court also stated that Kejriwal requires special consultation in jail, the Tihar jail authorities shall consult the medical board to be constituted by Director of AIIMS. Thus, the medical board constituted will decide about the administration of insulin to Arvind Kejriwal.

The Court in the case stated that medical board will prescribe a diet and exercise plan for Kejriwal.

It has also been clarified by the said court that Kejriwal can have home cooked food, provided the same is as per the diet which is prescribed by the medical board.

Further, it has been alleged by the Enforcement Directorate, ED that Kejriwal is intentionally having mangoes, sweets, and tea with sugar in jail to increase his sugar level.

Therefore, the central probe agency had claimed before the court that the Chief Minister was doing so to create a ground for bail.
