Chana Dal at Rs 60/kg with Goyal's 'Bharat Dal' launch

Union Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal, launched the sale of subsidised chana dal at Rs 60 per kg on Monday, under the brand name ‘Bharat Dal’, to provide pulses to consumers at an affordable rate.

Chana dal is being sold in Delhi-NCR through retail outlets such as the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED), NCCF, KendriyaBhandar, and Mother Dairy’s Safal.

As per an official statement, Goyal initiated the “sale of subsidised chana dal under the brand name ‘Bharat Dal’ at Rs 60 per kg for one kg pack and Rs 55 per kg for 30 kg pack.”

The introduction of ‘Bharat Dal’ is a significant measure taken by the Central Government to make pulses accessible to consumers at affordable prices by converting the government’s chana stock into chana dal.
