The Business Guardian
|May 23, 2024
As the 2024 Lok Sabha Lelections approach their conclusion, all eyes are on the potential 100-day agenda of the new government and the proposals for the FY25 budget.

The markets anticipate that the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure a third consecutive term from 2024 to 2027. However, the strength of the NDA in this term remains a topic of debate, especially after Prime Minister Modi's ambitious "Abki baar 400 paar" narrative.
In the immediate future, attention will be focused on the July budget, which is expected to introduce changes in direct and indirect taxation, Minimum Support Price (MSP) policy, and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) payments, assuming the NDA returns to power under PM Modi's leadership. Mirae Asset predicts that the long-term focus will be on infrastructure development, farm laws, skill development, and boosting manufacturing employment to stimulate rural demand.
