Operation Meghaburu ‘historic’, says DGP

Personnel honoured for bravery

State Police Director General Tadasha Mishra on Saturday termed Operation Meghaburu, launched against Naxalites in the Saranda forest of West Singhbhum district, as a historic and landmark success in Jharkhand's fight against Left-Wing Extremism.

Addressing the media in Chaibasa, the DGP said the operation stands as a shining example of precision planning, inter-force coordination, and effective use of modern technology.

The DGP was in Chaibasa to review the multi-day anti-Naxal operation and to honour the personnel involved for their courage and professionalism. A special ceremony was organized in which officers and jawans from the Jharkhand Police, CRPF, CoBRA, and Jharkhand Jaguar units were felicitated for their exemplary role in the operation.

Earlier in the day, DGP Tadasha Mishra held a closed-door meeting with senior police and paramilitary officers in Chaibasa, during which he conducted a detailed review of Operation Meghaburu. The meeting focused on operational planning, intelligence gathering, use of technology, and ground coordination among various forces.
