Jharkhand clears top-level IAS promotions

The Jharkhand government has approved the promotion of senior IAS officers Vandana Dadel and Mastram Meena to the Chief Secretary (CS) rank, marking a significant administrative development in the state.
According to sources in state secretariat, the proposal has received the government's nod and formal orders are expected shortly.
Vandana Dadel, a 1996-batch officer, will be granted the Chief Secretary rank with effect from January 1, 2026.
Mastram Meena, also from the 1996 batch and currently serving as Principal Secretary, Drinking Water Department, will be promoted simultaneously.
At present, three Jharkhand-cadre officers holding the Chief Secretary rank are on central deputation:
Shailesh Kumar Singh (1991 batch), Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, due to retire on March 31, 2026
