ESTOMO: TRUTH SHALL PREVAIL

A retired police general linked by whistleblower Julie Patidongan to the case of 34 “missing sabungeros” vowed to file criminal charges and clear his name, asserting his innocence and stating that “truth shall prevail.”

Retired police lieutenant general Jonnel Estomo denied any involvement both in the operation of the now-banned online sabong and the disappearance of cockfighters.

Estomo said his legal team is now preparing a legal offensive against Patidongan, also known as alias Totoy and alias Dondon, when he disclosed his involvement in the missing cockfighters.

“I categorically deny my involvement in any manner and I will present evidence to clear my name because there is no proof of my involvement. While I won't get ahead of any investigation, I believe that truth shall prevail,” said Estomo in a statement sent to reporters.

“I am ready to answer any allegations at the proper forum to clear my name. I have faith in the impartial justice system and due process of the law,” he added.
