DOH issues holiday health alert

The Department of Health (DOH) has urged the public to take extra precautions against lifestyle-related risks during the holiday season as cases of stroke, heart attack, and asthma rose by five percent nationwide before the close of 2025.

The agency emphasized that prevention and early medical consultation are crucial in avoiding severe complications.

For acute coronary syndrome, the DOH advised avoiding overeating, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, and stress, while reminding individuals experiencing chest pain or difficulty breathing to seek immediate medical attention.
