Tamica to represent SA at world champs

Tamica Simon, 12, from Bothasig, is set to represent South Africa at the prestigious World Dance Competition in Burgos, Spain, taking place from Thursday, July 3, to Friday July 13, and needs help raising funds to get her there.

Tamica started dancing at the age of five and quickly fell in love with hip-hop - a style she now "specialises in".

With a rigorous dance schedule—practicing five, sometimes six days a week—Tamica said she is placing her “trust in the Lord” that her hard work will pay off.

Although she admits she gets nervous performing in front of large crowds, she said her love for dancing is unwavering, regardless of the competition results. "Dancing allows me to express myself,” she said.
