How you can help garden birds with the fruits of love

THE breeding and nesting season has arrived for our feathered friends, including sparrows, starlings, blackbirds, robins, and other British birds.

The RSPB is calling on gardeners to support them during these crucial spring months by leaving out two specific fruits.

The wildlife charity suggests that a simple offering of sliced apples and pears on lawns or bird tables can make a significant difference.

The RSPB advises: “You can put out leftovers such as dried fruit, or fruit such as apples and pears.
