Houghton's Dillon retains Durham City 10km title

Hundreds of runners took to the streets of Durham for the Durham City Run Festival as it returned for its ninth year, with Paula Radcliffe - three-time London marathon winner - on hand to fire the starting gun, writes Kevin Carr.
In the women's 10km race, Houghton Harrier Charlotte Dillon retained her title for a second year with a time of 35:37. She was followed by Kate Storey, of Crook & District, (38:42) and Vicky Simpson, of North Shields Poly (39.54).
The men's race was won by Liam Aldridge, of Billingham Running Club, in 31:10. Joseph Wilson, of North East Project, was second in 31:34, with Rob Scott, of Richmond and Zetland Harriers, third in 31:51.
Sunderland Harrier Liam Taylor won the 5km in 16:11, with Sam Jackson, of Elvet Striders, second (16:46) and Will Jardine, of Durham City Harriers, taking third place (16:51).
