Boldon out to keep promotion hopes alive

Boldon are gunning for a crucial victory that will keep alive their Readers Durham & North East Cricket League Division One promotion hopes when they travel to Ryhope this weekend.

Second placed Boldon have won their last three games in the league, so are right in form at present.

Ryhope chairman Ian Lawrence said: "We have lots of players who are Sunderland season ticket holders, so we are going to delay selection until all availability is confirmed."

South Shields, in fifth place, take on Boldon CA at Wood Terrace and skipper Luke Elliott said: "Sameer Awan and Oliver Appleby are back from holiday, and they come in for Ewan Jenkins and Jack Saveraux, who makes a return to the Second team."
