NEWCASTLE United will take on Brentford today without three first-team players as Eddie Howe again deals with injury concerns ahead of the big Premier League game.

- By Stuart Jamieson

While Lewis Hall is back in the squad after a frustrating time with setbacks, the Magpies remain without summer signing Yoane Wissa and England fullback Tino Livramento.

Anthony Gordon's hip problem got the better of him against Athletic Bilbao in Wednesday night’s Champions League win and he is set to miss this afternoon’s game too.

United are short on options up front, with Will Osula also out, although Howe at least has strong contenders in the wide roles. Here's the latest injury situation and when they could return to the squad.

Anthony Gordon - Injury: hip

‘The winger is expected to miss today’s game after limping off against Bilbao with a hip injury, although that has not stopped him being called up for England duty.

Howe didn’t entirely rule him out for Brentford but it is hoped he will be fine to resume action later this month

What Howe has said: “We don’t think it is serious. We will get him scanned and see the results. Good chance he misses out on Sunday but we will see how he is today.”

Expected return: Man City (H), November 22

Yoane Wissa - Injury: knee
