Dog owners giving up large breeds due to rising costs

MANY big dog owners are being forced to say goodbye to their pets due to rocketing food and vet bills.

Rescue centres say they are at crisis point due to a rise in the number of abandoned pets in desperate need of care.

One animal shelter has seen a huge increase in the number of large-breed dogs it has taken inincluding Oasis, a seven-year-old female St Bernard.
