And Mainoo is so keen to linkup with former teammate Scott McTominay, that he could push to join the Italian champions in the January transfer window.

Mainoo has found himself frozen out at United since Ruben Amorim took charge at Old Trafford.

But Napoli boss Antonio Conte (right) is keen to hand the youngster an escape route.
