MP warns of 'deep disconnect' as voters look for alternatives

A LABOUR MP today says Keir Starmer needs a "change of plan" more than a Plan For Change after Labour's poor results in the local elections.

Writing in the Sunday People, Emma Lewell blasted the party's refusal to compensate Waspi women in the pension inequality scandal and cuts to Personal Independence Payments.

She said positive moves to improve the NHS and save British Steel had been over-shadowed by these decisions, as well as slow progress on justice for Hillsborough victims and the sub-postmasters and infected blood scandals.

"There is a deep disconnect with the public and a growing sense that the two main parties just don't get it," said the South Shields MP.
